Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam, Gen Z candidate Kunki Chowdhury sought the blessings of noted intellectual and scholar Hiren Gohain.
In a video, Chowdhury is seen requesting Gohain’s support for her electoral journey. In response, Gohain praised the young candidate for representing a new generation and emphasised the important role of youth in shaping the country’s future.
“Young leaders like you carry the hopes of our society,” Gohain said. “The past leaders have left much work undone. To rebuild and move forward, we need new energy, courage, and determination. The way you are campaigning shows that you have what it takes to succeed. I am confident you will emerge victorious.”
Earlier, former Assam Director General of Police and Sahitya Akademi award-winning poet Harekrishna Deka had publicly endorsed Chowdhury for the Guwahati Central constituency. In a video message, Deka highlighted the significance of the younger generation, noting that Gen Z—represented by Chowdhury—will play a defining role in shaping the future not only of Assam or India, but of the world.
Chowdhury, who is contesting from the Guwahati Central constituency, expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement she has received.
