Bihpuria MLA Amiya Kumar Bhuyan has resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after being denied a ticket for the upcoming elections. Expressing disappointment over the decision, he submitted his resignation to the party’s top leadership.
Bhuyan announced that he will contest the elections independently from the Bihpuria constituency. Speaking to the press, he said, “I will file my nomination papers on Monday and contest the elections as an independent candidate.”
He also urged his supporters to stand by him in the upcoming polls, stating that his priority remains serving the people of Bihpuria, regardless of party affiliation.
