The Assam Rifles conducted a civic outreach programme in a remote village of Tirap district, distributing solar lights to improve living conditions and encourage the use of sustainable energy.
The initiative, led by the Khonsa Battalion, was carried out in Old Paniduria village, where residents received solar lighting systems aimed at enhancing safety and convenience during evening hours.
According to an official statement, the sites for the project were selected in coordination with local village authorities to ensure that assistance reached the most deserving sections of the community.
Villagers welcomed the move, stating that the solar lights would bring a significant improvement to their daily lives in the remote area.
The programme highlights the Khonsa Battalion’s ongoing commitment to community development, while also strengthening goodwill, trust, and civil-military relations in Arunachal Pradesh.
