Senior Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in Assam on Thursday for a one-day visit to campaign for the party ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha is set to address back-to-back rallies in Bokajan and Titabor, aiming to strengthen the Congress party’s outreach in key constituencies.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit follows recent campaign appearances by Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar, as the Congress intensifies its efforts in the run-up to the polls.
As per the schedule, Rahul Gandhi departed from Delhi on a special flight in the morning and landed at Dimapur Airport. From there, he travelled by helicopter to Bokajan in Karbi Anglong district, where he is slated to address a major public rally as part of the campaign.
After the Bokajan event, he will proceed to Titabor in Jorhat district to address another key public meeting later in the day, focusing on reaching out to voters in Upper Assam.
