A 22-year-old woman from Nagaland was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru. The deceased, identified as Linsulal, was discovered hanging at her residence in Aravinda Nagar.
The incident occurred on March 22 and came to light the next morning when her body was found.
Linsulal had been living in a rented accommodation with a friend. She was originally from Luthuru village in Kiphire district of Nagaland.
Raising concerns over the circumstances of her death, her sister Lashila lodged a complaint at Basavanahalli Police Station. In the complaint, she expressed suspicion regarding the involvement of two individuals known to Linsulal at the resort spa where she was employed.
The exact cause of death is yet to be established, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the facts surrounding the case.
Police have registered an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. A UDR is filed in cases involving suspicious deaths, including suicide, homicide, or accidents.
