Rajnath Singh is scheduled to arrive in Assam today to kick off election campaigning ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls.
During his visit, Singh is expected to interact with party workers and voters across the region, highlighting the BJP’s agenda and mobilising support. His presence is likely to boost party morale and strengthen campaign efforts in key constituencies.
Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is already in Assam for the unveiling of the BJP’s election manifesto, the “Sankalp Patra,” outlining the party’s development agenda and promises.
Later tonight, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Dibrugarh, with his flight expected to land at 8:40 PM. He will be received by state BJP president Diplu Sarma and will stay overnight in Dibrugarh before continuing his campaign across the state on the following day.
On the opposition front, the Indian National Congress is also stepping up its efforts, with leader Priyanka Gandhi scheduled to arrive in Assam tomorrow to campaign for party and alliance candidates, signalling an intensified push from the rival camp.
