The Board of Secondary Education Assam has officially announced the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026 today.

The top performers this year are:
- 1st Rank: Jyotirmay Das from Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Patacharkuchi in Bajali district secured the top position
- 2nd Rank: Akankha Bhuyan of Assam Ambikagiri Rai Chaudhuri Jatiya Vidyalaya, Howajan in Biswanath district
- 3rd Rank: Jia Farah Islam from Little Flower HS School, Dibrugarh
- 4th Rank: Surjit Akhtar from Little Flower HS School, Nalbari
The pass percentage among male candidates stands at 67.78%, while female candidates recorded 63.96%.
Among districts, Dima Hasao registered the highest pass percentage at 88.23%, followed by Sivasagar with 84.08% and Dibrugarh at 78.46%.
A total of 2,81,701 students successfully cleared the examination. Of these, 85,189 students secured first division, 1,50,167 obtained second division, and 6,345 passed in third division. Additionally, 3,983 students achieved distinction marks, 13,681 secured star marks, and 99,062 earned letter marks in various subjects.
This year, 4,38,565 candidates appeared for the HSLC examination across 1,046 centres in the state. The exams were conducted from February 10 to February 27, 2026, and the results were declared 42 days later.
Out of the total candidates, 9,315 students were absent, results of 5 students were withheld, and 135 students were expelled during the examination process.
Students dissatisfied with their results can apply for re-evaluation or rechecking through the SEBA portal after the declaration. The Board will also announce dates for the HSLC Compartment Exams 2026 for those who have failed in one or two subjects.
