AAP Hits Back at Raghav Chadha, Accuses Him of ‘Soft PR’ Politics

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday hit back at its MP Raghav Chadha, accusing him of sidestepping key issues in Parliament and focusing on “soft PR” rather than adhering to the party line.

Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bharadwaj criticised Chadha, alleging that he did not participate in opposition walkouts on major issues and failed to raise concerns related to Punjab, the state he represents. Speaking in a video shared on X, Bharadwaj said, “We are all soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal. The Centre doesn’t care about soft PR or talking about samosas at airport canteens when bigger issues are at stake.”

He further alleged that Chadha avoided action during crucial moments, including remaining abroad when Kejriwal was arrested, and not actively engaging in opposition strategies in Parliament.

AAP national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda also criticised Chadha, questioning whether someone who “fears” Prime Minister Narendra Modi can effectively represent the country. Dhanda pointed to Chadha’s reluctance to speak on key national issues, including alleged voter rights violations in West Bengal and discussions concerning the Chief Election Commissioner in Parliament.

“In Parliament, we get limited time to speak, and it can be used either to fight for the nation or discuss trivial matters like cheaper samosas at airport canteens,” Dhanda said, adding that Chadha has avoided raising substantive issues for several years.

The remarks from Bharadwaj and Dhanda came shortly after Chadha said he was “silenced, not defeated,” following his removal as AAP’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha.
