Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium has been named as one of the venues for the 2027 Border-Gavaskar Test series between India and Australia, as part of the BCCI’s home season schedule announced on March 26.
The upcoming calendar for the senior men’s team includes five Tests, nine ODIs, and eight T20 Internationals, with the high-profile Australia series set to take place between January and March 2027.
The five-match Test series will start in Nagpur on January 21, followed by the second Test in Chennai from January 29 to February 2. Guwahati will host the third Test from February 11 to 15, while the remaining matches will be held in Ranchi (February 19–23) and Ahmedabad (from February 27).
Guwahati’s selection follows its hosting of a Test match against South Africa in November 2025. However, the absence of traditional venues such as Mumbai and Kolkata from the series has drawn attention, with no official clarification on whether their respective associations opted out.
India will then host Sri Lanka in December for a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is, with matches scheduled in cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Cuttack, and Pune.
In early 2027, Zimbabwe will visit India for a three-match ODI series, marking their first bilateral tour of the country since 2002, when the Indian team was led by Sourav Ganguly.
