Students at a school in Abhayapuri in Assam’s Bongaigaon district were compelled to write their examinations under candlelight after heavy rainfall caused a power outage in the town.
The incident took place at Bapuji High School in Abhayapuri on March 14, where examinations for Classes VI and VII were being conducted.
According to local sources, continuous rainfall since the previous night had disrupted the electricity supply across Abhayapuri. During the exams, the area was suddenly plunged into darkness, creating difficulties for students appearing for the tests.
As power had not been restored, the school authorities arranged candles so that the examinations could continue without interruption.
Officials said that despite the challenging circumstances, the exams were successfully conducted with the help of candlelight.
